This storyline was called Doomsday Clock and basically served as a sequel to the originalWatchmen comics.
So was adapting the event ever in the cards for Zack Snyder and DC Comics?
According to Snyder himself, it doesnt seem like it was ever in the cards.
Afanasked the panelists if adapting the comic seriesDoomsday Clockwas ever something they thought about doing.
The director then noted that it wasprobably notever in the cards.
The filmmaker did eventually get his way,as the credits were adjusted.
Was Doomsday Clock Ever In the Cards?
Its hard to imagine that the idea of adapting the big crossover didnt come up at least once.
At the time,Warner Bros.was still having trouble getting its big DC Comics properties to land well.
Another adaptation ofThe Watchmendid get made, though, in theform of David Lindelof’s HBO series.
The show was a full-out sequel to the events of the original comics and was critically raved.
