Unfortunately,The Rings of Power’s writing doesn’t hold up to its predecessors.
Oftentimes the dialogue, in particular, sounds extremely generic and even emotionless.
In other words, it just isn’t believable.
Because the stone sees only downward.
The darkness of the water is vast and irresistible.
The ship feels the darkness as well, striving moment by moment to master her and pull her under.
But the ship has a secret.
For unlike the stone, her gaze is not downward but up.
Fixed upon the light that guides her, whispering of grander things than darkness ever knew."
This is only one of many instances of the subpar writing in Season 1.
For example, Isildur is obviously an extremely important character in the overall story of the One Ring.
This turned out to be a huge missed opportunity.
