The new Harry Potter series coming to HBO reportedly has some major names in talks for roles.

However, no offer has been made to the actor as of writing.

Sources said the actor was at least offered the part, but there have been no updates on negotiations.

Snape is best known as Hogwarts' potions master and one of the primary antagonists throughout all seven books.

The late Alan Rickman embodied Professor Snape in all eight originalHarry Pottermovies.

In the first iteration of theHarry Potterseries, Hagrid was portrayed by the late Robbie Coltrane.
